KINDERGARTEN TO JUNIOR RECORDER

DESCRIPTION:
 Keeping students engaged in the classroom from kindergarten to upper elementary can be a challenge. This workshop will cover both ends of the spectrum. For early years, discover how to keep your kindergarten students engaged with fun activities, games, and songs. For the upper elementary students learn how to incorporate the recorder into your classroom with ideas on how to introduce note reading, and improvisation and composition techniques for even the most reluctant student. Come out prepared to play, create, sing, and move. Please bring a soprano recorder.

DESCRIPTION: The song in print is just the starting point for each lesson. Knowing your student’s skill set will result in a creative and musical outcome. Use differentiated instruction and student input to include variations, improvisations and extensions. Drums, barred instruments, and other surprises will be used for this creative and cooperative learning process.
